The Carolinas Labor Management Conference was incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational corporation in 2001. Originally the South Carolina Labor Management Conference, in 2004 the name was changed to Carolinas Labor Management Conference with the inclusion of North Carolina labor and management partners. CLMC has planned and organized annual labor-management conferences since 2001.

CLMC's Board of Directors is comprised of labor leaders, management officials and consultants, neutral parties, and academics specializing in labor-management education in North and South Carolina, representing private and public sectors and government.
